How was the Griffith University Nursing Society formed?
The six GUNS board members met in orientation week at the beginning of their Bachelor of Nursing degree in 2022. Their unique sense of humour quickly became a part of their friendship as they struggled to understand the basis of Anatomy & Physiology.
Throughout the year, the group studied and encouraged each other, which cemented their friendship even further.
It was evident however, that the nursing students needed a club that would represent and help one of the biggest cohorts at the Gold Coast campus, so, the group decided to re-launch the Griffith University Nursing Society, or as we like to say the "GUNS" Club.
With
the board members all being mature aged, we like to think we can bring
varying life experiences and a lot of positive and helpful advice to
others studying. We want to bring the nursing cohort together to
discover what opportunities are available and support each other by
organising fun events, whilst we continue our journey of becoming the
best Registered Nurses we can be.
As a nurse, we have the opportunity to heal the mind, soul, heart, and
body of our patients, their families, and ourselves. They may forget
your name, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”
